Our first EU trip on the bike and what a way to start.Tony & Wendy are truly friendly folk and RidersRest a great place to stay for the 7 nights we had there. Tony`s rides are awesome and tailored to your individual requirements, such a smooth rider. Wendy's food, as everyone says, is lovely with beer and wine flowing nicely, and the accommodation is really nice.

Great rides, great company , great cheese :) what more could you want.

From the roads, some very straight (and fast!), some very twisty (and fast!), to the fab weather, the scenery, that bend on the volcano road!, Wendys cooking, the hospitality you both afforded us ( even at 11 pm when we got back from a long day on our bikes and you were waiting with a very welcoming meal and drink ), I could go on and on but just want to say “THANK YOU”. I checked in here in September 09 for 3 nights whilst touring France
alone on my R6. I'd previously realised that there were an abundance of
twisty roads in the area coupled with some interesting places to visit.
I wasn't disappointed and must reiterate all of the comments from
my predecessors; the place is a real gem thanks to the diligence of Tony
and Wendy.

From Riders rest I was going to nearby Mas de Clos for a weekend of
track days with eybis.com so Tony introduced me to Jean-Louise Fontaine
the owner of Moto Expert in nearby Brive La Gallarde who supplied me
with new (discounted) tyres for my track day experience.

Unfortunately I low sided my bike which then barrel rolled the 2nd day
at Mas de Clos. Thereafter the real service 'beyond the call of duty'
kicked in from Riders Rest & my new friend Jean-Louise from Moto Expert
in Brive. Tony rescued me from a remote drop off point 20 miles from
Riders Rest whilst my bike was transported to the Yamaha Dealer in Brive
courtesy of my new 'best friend' Jean-Louise who was also attending the
track days. Over the next few days Tony, Wendy & Jean-Louise at Moto
Expert supported me through an unscheduled extended stay at Riders Rest.
Meanwhile I tried to decide how best to proceed and then awaited a
partial repair & geometry check to my bike c/o the Yamaha Dealer in
Brive before limping home to the UK. Wendy quietly listened to my
futile analysis of my track day antics, Tony ferried me around whilst
generally doing everything he could to boost my moral and Jean-Louise
who transported me and the remains of my bike around at no cost to me
incredibly even offered me free use of his own bike for the 5 days I was
grounded.

This support turned an otherwise disastrous end to my 'brilliant' biking
holiday into 'another grand adventure' with a happy ending & I cannot
thank everyone enough for their sensitivity and kindness in my hour of
need.

All that aside I think that the owners of such a bikers retreat could be
forgiven for retreating into their own space each evening whilst leaving
their guests to their own devices. Not so at Riders Rest. Tony and
Wendy as far as I could see both hosted their guests each evening and in
doing so created a friendly and social atmosphere which everyone enjoyed
whether they were passing through for just one night or were staying a
few days.

Finally the accommodation and in particularly the bunk house is worthy
of mention, it's fantastic, as are Wendy's meals; so much so I've not
had to eat anything else since and I'm still running on a full tank!
It's relatively early days for Riders Rest & listening to Tony & Wendy's
plans for the future it's only going to get even better so I'd urge
anyone who's touring through France to include at least an overnights
stay at Riders Rest in there itinerary.

Thank you both on behalf of the Munster Enduro Club and 1 Medical Regiment for taking very good care of all 17 of us. To Wendy especially for feeding us even though we all turned up at varying times throughout the night - no easy task under normal circumstances! - but each man was given a hot meal of either Curry or SagBoll and home made apple pie washed down with copious amounts of tea, coffee or beer. The accommodation was spot on, the beds were mega comfortable, with more than enough hot water for us all to take a 15 min shower each, which believe me we needed in the February cold after a 12 hour+ ride. The early morning "Full English Breakfast" certainly set us up for the next leg of our ride to Spain;

Especially as you did it all with a smile and in aide of the Help 4 Heroes Charity ride we are doing to Timbuktu. In a word PERFECT!
